Alfredo Morelos From Rangers Gives Back. GOD55

Controversial Ranger's ace Alfredo Morelos has put himself on the frontline to help those less fortunate in his Colombian hometown.

The 23-year-old striker has been spending lockdown in his home country, and once again returned to the impoverished Cerete, distributing food parcels to people struggling during the crisis.

It’s not the first time the Ibrox star took to his hometown’s streets for a good cause, however, having previously distributed aid at the start of April following a charity football match.

Pictures posted on the Alfredo Morelos Foundation’s page show the striker wearing gloves and a face mask as he interacted with the locals.

Many stopped for a picture with the star as he and a man in a red Rangers jersey helped distribute the food.

A statement on the foundation’s page, named on his behalf, reads: “In this crisis we do not forget the vulnerable families of Cerete.

“The Alfredo Morelos Foundation is no stranger to the situation that exists in the world due to Covid-19 and for this reason it has helped the population with food to cope with this crisis.

“More than 500 markets have been delivered to in various sectors, sidewalks and townships, delivered by Alfredo Morelos and the foundation’s volunteers, complying with biosafety regulations to prevent the spread of the virus.”

Aid was also delivered to disabled and vulnerable individuals within the community.

Among them was Duvan Suarez, who has microcephaly and perennial hypoxia – and is affectionately called “Alfredo’s spoiled child”.

Other video footage from Cerete shows Morelos again wearing a protective mask and gloves as he gets hands-on, unloading a truck full of crucial aid for the area.

The foundation’s statement finishes by adding: “In difficult times you can see the friendly hands, but the Alfredo Morelos Foundation works every day to improve the quality of life of children, youth and families.”

The act of kindness comes after the star pledged thousands of pounds to help low-income families during the crisis.

The footballer’s agent, Michael Gorman, revealed on Twitter at the end of March: “Client Alfredo Morelos has pledged £75,000 to help underprivileged families in Colombia during the pandemic.

“Alfredo has donated more than £300,000 to his foundation and other charitable groups in the past year.”
