Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed how he was convinced to sign Bruno Fernandes for Manchester United during a scouting trip in Portugal.
The Portuguese midfielder Fernandes completed his long-awaited move to Old Trafford in January, with the Red Devils agreeing a deal with Sporting Lisbon worth up to £68million.
The 25-year-old has made an instant impact at the Theatre of Dreams, scoring three goals and making two assists in five starts, and is already developing into a fans’ favourite in Manchester. Solskjaer scouted Fernandes in Portugal and said: ‘When you go and see them live you just get that feeling of the player.
Solskjaer believes Fernandes is benefiting from the quality around him at Manchester United and says the new signing is already forming an understanding with fellow midfielder Juan Mata.
‘For me it was easier because I came to a team with better players around me, I just had to do the right things, the same as I used to do but a little bit quicker, doing things and knowing the ball will come,’ Solskjaer.
We are all seeing the remarkable stuff on what Fernandes can do. More to see from him!
