First EPL to suspend. Coronavirus. Oh My GOD55 !!

Manchester City's Premier League clash against Arsenal has become the first football match in England to be postponed amid fears over the deadly Coronavirus outbreak.

The match, which was set to take place on Wednesday evening, has been called off after Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis tested positive for Covid-19.

While the Manchester City vs Arsenal game is the first Premier League match to have been postponed as a result of the outbreak, the virus has had a more far-reaching effect on sport in Europe and beyond.

In Italy, all sport has been called off until April 3, while Spanish La Liga games are taking place behind closed doors.

Matches are going ahead without spectators or being called off in France, Germany, Switzerland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Slovakia, among other countries.

The Premier League has therefore agreed that tonight's match will be rearranged.

"We understand this will cause inconvenience and cost to fans planning to attend the game but Arsenal, Manchester City and the Premier League have agreed that the short notice of Mr Marinakis' infection means there is no alternative but to take the time to complete a proper assessment of risk."

All necessary measures are being taken and the Premier League currently has no plans to postpone any other matches.
